AARP Health Insurance is offering $1,000 in emergency medical insurance coverage to the first 2,000 eligible adults in New York State to help them get back on their feet following the devastating coronavirus pandemic.
The insurance company says the insurance plan will help cover all costs related to treating or monitoring patients who are seriously ill or incapacitated and who are being transported to hospitals and other healthcare facilities for medical care.AARP has previously offered similar insurance to its members to help with their health care needs.
A spokesperson said the insurer is also offering free access to the program to those with limited incomes and those who are in emergency situations.
It will help provide coverage to those in need as well as those who have lost a job or who are on a temporary or permanent disability.
The coverage is available for the first two days of coverage and will continue until a plan has been approved by AARP, the spokesperson said.
