Health and safety experts are urging motorists to wear a life vest when they sleep in their cars after an Adelaide man was struck by a driver who hit a cyclist in a motorway sleep-away camp.

Police said they were investigating an accident involving a pedestrian and a cyclist and asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
The pedestrian was not injured and was taken to a local hospital.
